Backwoods Hucksters

Based in the Puget Sound area of Washington state, the Hucksters bring a slightly psychedelic twist to their American Roots songbag.  A blues band at its core, the Hucksters weave together bluegrass, country, folk, rock and country blues into a tapestry of music they call Mountain Blues.

Chicken Fried Swing

Cort Armstrong joins a local Django swing duo called Stringology to form Chicken Fried Swing, which fuses Hot Club swing jazz, popular standards, western swing, blues and ragtime into a fun little conversation between two guitars.  Eric Bogart (guitar) brings the music of Django to life, and demonstrates that the sound is not constrained to swing music, while Terianne Stratton (ukulele) keeps a steady pulse.  The collaboration reflects Bogart's and Armstrong's passion for growing musically and trying new things.  The trio of instrumentalists create a fertile field for Armstrong's old-time scratchy record voice to blossom.
